About 3:13

You will notice 3:13 in the header of this web site and if you have Superman eyes you can read the passage in the background as well. It is a reference to Philippians 3:13, "Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,". This verse, standing by itself, doesn't say much to us as believers but it highlights something about Paul that I cherish.

It highlights that Paul can be a man who stands boldly in the truth of Christ (this is what he had just been discussing) and recognize that he has not, does not and will not achieve it completely without Christ and the Holy Spirit.  This trait is rare among men, but it is something I greatly desire.  To share the character of my awesome creator and savior without shame.  To share my confidence in His Atoning work in me.  All the while in humility, sharing my continuing intense need for Him.  To share my common struggles with the rest mankind.  To identify with my struggling brother or sister.  All without compromising who God is or what His requirements are.

This is my prayer for myself and this is my prayer for the entire Body of Christ.  Boldness with Humility!
